She grew up in Reno , Northen Nevada.
Chantal was a bright , lovely , charismathic sister, daughter and friend and a passionate horseback rider. She used to compete in hunter-jumping on her thoroughbred " Cash ".
Despite chantal being the baby sister , she was certantly the soul of the family.

About her father:
it turns out that her father was a drug user and the entire documentary was a false misleading documentary according to her brother, Ian.
"The documentary that Robert Hager produced on Chantal has little truth in it.
I myself couldn’t stomach to watch the whole thing but I do hope that some people get help after seeing it so that it may do some good. The fact of the matter is that Robert Hager was a horrible father and terrible person. He continues to struggle with drugs even when he’s in possession of weapons. He recently discharged a weapon multiple times in one of his homes while high. Child protective
services and the courts in Reno Nevada actually took Chantal and her brother Ryne away from Bob for quite a few years because of his drug problem and his refusal to test. If you buy into his bullshit that’s your choice but the truth is out there and all it takes is a little digging. Chantal deserved a better parent. Robert Hager is actually not affiliated with the foundation and as soon as he got 1 foot in the door I’ll progress halted immediately. Instead of help with the doctors that I had had in place to treat people with eating disorders he wanted to focus spending the funds on a commercial or his little documentary so that people could see the struggle because she went through only he lied to make himself look better and make people feel sorry for him.
He got my older brother who is also dead and I in many life-threatening situations all instigated by his drug use. When my brother was 14 he was held at gunpoint during a drug deal with our father. And I could go on for hours about these instances.

So yeah , I am not suprised that her mother was not in documentary at all.At first I thought that she wasn't in the picture and just divorced Robert and walked out. But now that I think abt. this more I now see why her mom left. Because robert is an unbearable person.
May Chantal Hager rest in peace and may her legacy continue on. We love you chantal, and you deserved better.
